Perimenopause vs. Menopause What is the difference?

Perimenopause is the transitional phase between your reproductive years and menopause. Typically beginning in your late 30's or early 40's, perimenopause lasts until you begin menopause.

Menopause signals the end of reproductive capabilities and commonly is marked by your final menstrual period.

Estrogen levels by age

Estrogen plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of every organ in a woman’s body. This graphic illustrates how estrogen levels peak around age 35 and gradually decline by age 80, highlighting the hormone’s essential influence throughout a woman’s life, from reproductive health to bone density, heart function, and more.
